Excel V+ laser treatment utilises advanced laser technology to specifically target vascular conditions, pigmentation, and other skin concerns. By delivering light energy at precise wavelengths, the Excel V+ laser is able to focus on chromophores within the skin (the molecules responsible for skin colour). These include haemoglobin (linked with redness) and melanin (linked with pigmentation). When light energy is absorbed and converted into heat, it can cause blood vessels to constrict and pigmentation to fragment. The body then gradually clears the treated tissue, reducing unwanted colour. Collagen stimulation may also occur as part of this process, so skin rejuvenation also forms part of the repertoire of the Excel V+ laser.
With its customisable settings and versatile handpieces, the Excel V+ laser allows treatment to be adapted to your individual presentation. Following a careful consultation with your Dr. Jodie clinician, treatment may be undertaken in our Surrey Hills clinic if you are considered a suitable candidate. Treatment can be associated with temporary effects such as redness, bruising, or swelling, so it is advisable to plan your appointment with your social calendar in mind. All laser treatments carry risks, which will be discussed thoroughly during your consultation.
Excel V+ laser treatment may be undertaken as a ‘global’ treatment across the entire face, which may be appropriate for generalised facial redness, networks of broken capillaries, or rosacea. Alternatively, it may be directed more locally, such as to an isolated blood vessel or small lesion.
