The Excel V+ laser treatment uses light energy to target vascular conditions, pigmentation changes, and other skin concerns. By delivering energy at specific wavelengths, the Excel V+ laser focuses on chromophores within the skin, the molecules that determine skin colour. These include haemoglobin (linked with redness) and melanin (responsible for pigmentation). When the light is absorbed, it is converted into heat, which can cause blood vessels to constrict and pigmentation to fragment. The body then gradually clears the treated tissue, supporting renewal of the skin and contributing to overall skin rejuvenation through collagen stimulation.
With adjustable settings and a range of handpieces, the Excel V+ laser can be adapted to suit individual presentations. Following a detailed consultation with your Dr. Jodie clinician, treatment may often be undertaken on the same day at our Burwood clinic if considered appropriate. Temporary redness and swelling may occur, so it is best to plan treatment around your schedule. As with all laser treatments, there are risks, which will be explained in detail during your consultation.
The Excel V+ laser treatment may be performed as a “global” treatment across the entire face, which may be suitable for widespread redness, networks of broken capillaries, or rosacea. It can also be used in a more localised way as a “spot” treatment for individual lesions, such as a single visible vessel.
